Here I show you my latest creation, the home-made 2X72 belt grinder. Supplies I used: 1. (1) 4hp single phase 120v air compressor salvaged from used air compressor. (paid 80$ used a while back, but otherwise free because I already had it & you can get a broke one off of craigslist for free) – 0$ 2. (1) leaf spring (junkyard) – 10$ 3. (4) roller skate wheels (rollerskates from goodwill) – 5$ 4. (1) small motor pulley (grainger) – 11$ 5. (1) plastic golf bag tote/caddy (whatever those things are called) wheel – (golf bag tote from goodwill) – 5$ 6. (1) large sheave pulley with spacer – (grainger) – 65$ 7. (1) light switch – (sears) – 5$ 8. (1) Craftsman arbor-type bench grinder on workbench – (family heirloom) – 0$ 9. (2) gate hinges – (sears) – 6$ 10.(2) bungee cords – (already had them) – 0$ total – 107$ Burr King 2 X 72 belt grinder (www.quantumtool.com – 2905$ savings – 2792$ and mine is more powerful and has a flat platen feature on the back.
